Thomas Tuchel Criticizes Home Fan Atmosphere Despite Emphatic Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel expressed his disappointment that the Three Lions team did not receive greater support from the Wembley fans during their decisive 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday night.

Tuchel was happy to see his side maintain their strong performance, with finishes from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the opening quarter deciding the match. Yet, he was displeased with the atmosphere at the national stadium.

“With one and a half sessions to get ready against a drilled team and we performed excellently,” the coach remarked. “We could have been 5-0 up at the break. We couldn’t score the additional goals. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get support from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you give in the first quarter? We didn’t let them escape. If you hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s disappointing because the squad warranted more support today.”

“I maintain my words. We cannot do more than being 3-0 in a rivalry match. I hoped for a greater backing in periods where it is challenging.”

“In the second half, to cheer us on, there was a bit too much backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to refocus, but that’s football and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Justified by Performance

Away from potentially starting a fight with fans, Tuchel also created controversy by omitting Jude Bellingham and Foden from his squad. But the choice was justified by Morgan Rogers impressing again in the attacking midfield role and getting his maiden goal for his country.

“That’s his style,” Tuchel noted. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is vying for his place.”

Bellamy Seeks Improvement from Loss

The Wales manager expressed hope that Wales, who face a strong Belgian side in a crucial World Cup qualifier on Monday, improve after their awful first-half display.

“That’s the reason I scheduled this match,” the manager stated. “I wanted to assess our current level. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? This performance gives me inspiration.”

Injury Concern for Striker

Watkins was taken off at the break after clattering into a post and may miss out when England play their next opponents in the Latvian capital in a World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.
