Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the death bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites began covering about PlayStation as a new development. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft still intends to engage players with compelling titles on its key platform.
The Available Now Titles
A pair of titles that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's worth getting excited about.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, hailed in past assessments as "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th โ and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

Ultimately, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they were due initially โ transforming them into ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
