19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
It is his first championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Success also means the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an improved service.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
He saved 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he earned the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
